The Welch Lab

We are a multidisciplinary team based in the Department of Biochemistry

at the University of Cambridge.

Our work is focussed on the biochemistry of the WHO-priority pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa,

with a particular emphasis on how central metabolism, cell-to-cell communication, and secretion influence its virulence.

Keywords associated with our research programme:  Pseudomonas aeruginosa; microbial metabolism; virulence; quorum sensing; signal transduction; polymicrobial infections; cystic fibrosis; AMR; biofilms; nutrient sensing.
